Diana Prince is officially returning to the big screen for a third movie, Wonder Woman. Warner Bros. Rapidly developing on another part of the DC Comics franchise, with Gal Gadot returning to starring as the title lead and Patty Jenkins returning to write and direct the closing entry in the superhero trilogy.
The announcement comes on the heels of the release of “Wonder Woman 1984”, the studio’s superhero sequel that first appeared on the company’s live broadcast service and in select movie theaters on Christmas Day.

For HBO Max viewers, the studio said nearly half of the platform’s retail subscribers watched the movie on Friday, with millions more watching via cable or wireless access. HBO Max, which launched in May, currently has 12.6 million active users.
“Wonder Woman 1984” broke records and exceeded our expectations across all major viewership and subscriber metrics in our first 24 hours on service, and the interest and momentum we’re seeing indicates this will likely continue well beyond the weekend, said Andy Forsel, Chief Business Officer Warner Media Direct to Consumer. “During these very difficult times, it was a good idea to give families the option to enjoy this great movie at home, as theater was not an option.”
Nothing is known yet about the final chapter in the “Wonder Woman” trilogy. The sequel, which has been delayed several times amid the pandemic, stars Kristen Wiig as the evil cheetah, Pedro Pascal as businessman Max Lord and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor in Love with Diana.
